Ireland Dublin Mountain Wolves win International Cup

by | Oct 1, 2018 | News | 0 comments

The Try Tag Rugby International Cup trophy is making its way to Ireland after the Ireland Dublin Mountain Wolves claimed an epic win during Saturday’s International tournament in Acton.

The Wolves, who were plate winners in 2017, overcame New Zealand All Blacks in an exciting final which was eventually won by a golden try. After normal time the game was a one-all draw, and the scores remained tied after five minutes of extra time. Teams then dropped down to five-a-side, known as “drop-off”, and the deadlock was eventually broken with John Cole finding a gap in the tired defence to score for the Wolves.

In the plate competition Africa/Caribbean, with the crowd behind them, defeated the Australian Wallabies side. While there were also wins for South Africa in the Bowl and England (White) in the Shield.

The best national anthem performance was awarded to Malta, with honourable mentions for South Africa and Wales for their pride and passion.

Our thanks to our referees and PSS International Removals our official referee partner.
