This year’s Super League Dacia Magic Weekend will be taking place on Saturday 25th May and Sunday 26th May at Liverpool FC’s iconic Anfield Stadium.
Add some extra magic to the weekend by entering the Try Tag Rugby Magic Weekend Challenge tournament in Stanley Park (Postcode: L4 2SL), adjacent to the stadium, on the morning of Sunday 26th May. There will also be a chance for players taking part in the tournament to play on the Anfield pitch itself in front of 30,000 – 40,000 people at the half-time of the Leeds Rhinos vs London Broncos game. Players will be picked at random from those taking part in the mornings Tag tournament, but with the opportunity for 4 teams to play on Anfield, there is a good chance of being one of the lucky players!
Kicking off at 11am, the Challenge will take the format of a round robin competition culminating in a final to see who will win the Magic Weekend Challenge title!
The Tag Rugby Challenge will be finished by 1pm and will be followed by a short presentation to the winners.
Players will then be free to head into one of the most famous football stadiums in the world and watch the top class action on offer from the Super League Dacia Magic Weekend. The first game on the Sunday between Salford Red Devils and Hull KR kicks off at 1pm, so players are likely to miss the start of this game but will be able to see the majority of the game and the other two games in the afternoon. Those lucky enough to be picked to play on the the Anfield pitch will need to meet prior to halftime of the Leeds vs London game in order to get ready to go on the pitch.

All players taking part in the Magic Weekend Challenge event will be able to get 40% off both single day and full weekend tickets. Tickets for the Dacia Magic Weekend will need to be bought separately to the registration for the Try Tag Rugby event. Details of how to benefit from the Try Tag Rugby discount will be sent to players upon registration.
The Magic Weekend Challenge
Registration for the event is open to whole teams, part teams and individuals. If signing up as an individual or a group we will add you together with other players to create a team for you.
Teams will play in the 6-a-side format, mixed (3 males & 3 females on the pitch) using standard Try Tag Rugby rules. The tournament will consist of a round robin tournament followed by finals. All teams will receive a minimum of 60 minutes game time throughout the tournament.
All standards are welcome. For teams and players new to Tag Rugby there will be a rule briefing provided 30 minutes before the games get underway.
Registration for the event will take place from 10:15am with the first games kicking off at 11:00am and reaching a conclusion by 1pm.

Registration is open to whole teams and individual players who’d like to be placed in a team. All places, both team and individual are only confirmed upon full payment of the registration fee. Places are available on a first to pay basis. Team entry costs £60, alternatively individual entry costs £8. Registration closes at 9am, Tuesday 21st May, or when the event becomes full.
