TagFest Bristol 2022

As one of the UK’s most vibrant and exciting cities to live in and visit, plus a reputation for a great nightlife, Bristol is an ideal city to host a Tag Rugby festival! This will be the third TagFest hosted within the city and we are looking forward to welcoming teams from around the country yet again for this year’s event.
This year’s event will return to Lockleaze Sports Centre, a modern venue towards the north of the city. It is a very popular venue with our Bristol teams and has great facilities to host a tag festival!
There will be a real party atmosphere during the day, with music, fancy dress (theme TBC closer to the time) and BBQ. The presentation will take place at the venue before the after party to be held in Bristol city centre (venue details to be disclosed nearer the time). Make a fantastic day and night of it, feel free to bring your friends and enjoy everything Bristol and its nightlife has to offer.
FORMAT
– All games will be 7-a-side and will have a guaranteed game time of at least 90 minutes
– Regular Try Tag Rugby Rules apply
– Maximum of 12 players per squad, maximum of 4 male players on the pitch at any one time
– Teams can include a maximum of four international players*
– Teams will be seeded and graded based on submitted squad lists prior to the tournament
– Squad lists must be complete by the end of Sunday 26th June at the very latest
– Pools will be created which in turn will break out into Cup, Plate and Bowl etc competitions so there is always something to play for
– Consumption of alcohol is prohibited until the tournament has concluded
If your usual team can’t play or you just fancy a bit of a change, don’t worry, you can always register for the tournament as an individual and we will assign you to a new team or we can build a team around you on request.
PRESENTATION & AFTER PARTY
On completion of the finals, the presentation will take place at the venue. We will host a short after match social at the venue with drinks and a BBQ, and will then head into Bristol city centre to the after party venue which will continue until late in the night.
VENUE
This year’s event will be hosted at Lockleaze Sports Centre. Accessible by car, taxi or bus from Bristol. The venue is also 10 minutes walking distance from Filton Abbey Wood train station. Free on-site parking is also available.
ON THE DAY
All teams and players will be required to arrive at the venue in order to register at least one hour before kick off with the first games starting at 11:00am. Exact registration opening times will be confirmed in the welcome email. Play will be completed for 17:30 with after-match presentation and drinks.
FOOD & DRINK
Food and drink will be available on the day. There will be a bar and kitchen available to players and spectators in the clubhouse until 16:00, after which there will be a BBQ on-site with an outdoor bar.
SPECTATORS
Spectators are more than welcome, so make sure you bring your friends and family to enjoy the day and all it has to offer in the evening.
PLAYING KIT
ITF approved Tag Rugby shorts or tights are compulsory and will be available to purchase via card on the day. Details on ITF Approved (Tag Rugby) Shorts / Details on Kit Items not Permitted. Shorts will also be available to hire on the day.
REGISTRATION
Team registration is available at the cost of £195 for squads of 12.
If your usual team can’t play or you just fancy a bit of a change, don’t worry, you can always register for the tournament as an individual for £22 and we will assign you to a bespoke Individuals’ Team of a similar standard.

The registration deadline for both teams and individuals is 9am on Friday 24th June or when the event sells out.
COVID-19 AND CANCELLATIONS
Events will adhere to relevant Covid-19 guidelines. Details of Try Tag Rugby’s latest regulations will be circulated in the event welcome email which all players must familiarise themselves with. If any event has to be postponed or rescheduled, players will have the option to carry over their registration or be refunded.
