TagFest Oxford 2022

We are excited to welcome TagFest back to Oxford and are delighted to be a part of the distinguished list of locations taking part in the TagFest Series in 2022.
As one of the UK’s top 10 most visited cities, it’s bound to be one that our Tag communities add to their tournament calendar. Teams from across the UK and beyond are invited to participate. Accommodating all levels from beginner to elite, this event will enable all players to do their talking both on and off the pitch. As the only site in the TagFest Series that has a whole weekend of free camping on site.
An after-party will be held onsite at Oxford Rugby Football Club. More information will be confirmed closer to the event.
For those travelling teams or just those budding festival goers, TagFest Oxford is also the only TagFest in the series to offer camping! More information will be released on this shortly to enable you to build this into your plans.
Additional unique components are also planned to be added to this event, and these will be announced through social media as we build up to the event
FORMAT
– All games will be 7-a-side and will have a guaranteed game time of at least 90 minutes
– Regular Try Tag Rugby Rules apply
– Maximum of 12 players per squad, minimum 3 female players on the pitch at any one time
– Teams will be seeded and graded based on submitted squad lists prior to the tournament
– Squad lists must be complete by the end of Sunday 24th July at the very latest
– Pools will be created which in turn will break out into Cup, Plate and Bowl etc competitions so there is always something to play for
– Consumption of alcohol is prohibited until the tournament has concluded
If your usual team can’t play or you just fancy a bit of a change, don’t worry, you can always register for the tournament as an individual and we will assign you to a new team or we can build a team around you on request.
PRESENTATION & AFTER PARTY
On completion of the finals, the presentation will take place in the onsite clubhouse before the after-party kicks-off for all players in the clubhouse bar, with live band and DJ until 11pm.
VENUE
This year’s event will be hosted at Oxford Rugby Football Club, a 10 minute taxi from Oxford City Centre and train station, or a delightful 25 minute walk through the Meadows via the Willow Walk. On-site parking is available.
ON THE DAY
All teams and players will be required to arrive at the venue in order to register at least one hour before kick off with the first games starting at 11:30am. Exact registration opening times will be confirmed in the welcome email. Play will be completed for 17:30 with the after-match party taking place onsite at Oxford RFC with a live DJ and Band until 11pm.
FOOD & DRINK
Food and drink will be available on the day.
CAMPING
Camping will be available on site for both the Friday and Saturday night. More details coming soon.
SPECTATORS
Spectators are more than welcome, so make sure you bring your friends and family to enjoy the day and all it has to offer in the evening.
PLAYING KIT
ITF approved Tag Rugby shorts or tights are compulsory and will be available to purchase via card on the day. Details on ITF Approved (Tag Rugby) Shorts / Details on Kit Items not Permitted. Shorts will also be available to hire on the day.
REGISTRATION
Team registration is available at the cost of £190 for squads of 12. However, the first 8 teams to register can take advantage of our early bird offer at the low price of £160!
If your usual team can’t play or you just fancy a bit of a change, don’t worry, you can always register for the tournament as an individual for £22 and we will assign you to a bespoke Individuals’ Team of a similar standard.
If you have a couple of mates and want to play together as part of an individuals’ team, sign up and drop a line to thamesvalley@trytagrugby.com with the players’ names.
The registration deadline for both teams and individuals is 9am Saturday 23rd July or when the event sells out.
COVID-19 AND CANCELLATIONS
Events will adhere to relevant Covid-19 guidelines. Details of Try Tag Rugby’s latest regulations will be circulated in the event welcome email which all players must familiarise themselves with. If any event has to be postponed or rescheduled, players will have the option to carry over their registration or be refunded.

Team names should be the same at all TagFest tournaments, six or more of the same players must participate at each tournament.
