Coventry & Warwickshire Leagues

League registration is now open for Autumn 2020, where the popular Coventry league returns to the Alan Higgs Centre on Mondays starting from 14th September. A new league venue of Leamington Rugby Football Club in Leamington will commence on Thursdays from 17th September on a floodlit grass surface. It is planned to complete the Leamington league using the 4G pitch at Warwick Independent School in Warwick on Thursdays once the facilities are fully open to the public again.

There is a priority window for existing playing teams and number of team places at each venue is limited, so all team registrations are on a first to pay the deposit basis, please log into your account to do this.

If you wish to use an outstanding credit on your account for a deposit or individual registration, please contact us, stating which league you or your team wishes to register for.

If another lockdown occurs, all teams will be credited for any missed fixtures and refunds can be processed on request.

Registration

Registration is open to whole teams, part-teams (groups) and players looking to join a team. For any leagues which don’t sell-out in advance, registration generally closes four days prior to the league commencing.

Ringers & Dual Registration

As we’re now comfortable with our procedures around COVID-19 sanitisation & how they are working, we have decided to revert to normal rules for ringers & dual registrations. Dual registration is now allowed again at venues where two different categories run on the same evening, ie a mixed and a women’s league.

However please be aware that dual registration in two teams for the same league on the same night (i.e. two mixed teams on the same night) is only allowed if approved by us. Any players who wish to be approved to dual register in a league should contact us.

The maximum squad size over the course of the season remains at 20, however matchday squads will be limited to 12 players in order to make measures likely to be introduced manageable.

New players

New players and teams of all skills and fitness levels (from beginners to experienced players) are very welcome. If you are a beginner most leagues will have beginner – intermediate divisions which are perfect for learning the game in your first season. A rules briefing will be given to all new players on arrival at a venue.

Tag Rugby Shorts

International Tag Federation (ITF) shorts or tights must be purchased before taking to the pitch in all Try Tag Rugby leagues.

Tag shorts can be bought from Try Tag Rugby staff at our leagues using card only. There are also hire shorts available for £4 per session (free on taster sessions). For full details on the permitted shorts/tights please see the What Equipment Do I Need section in our FAQs.
