TagFest Coventry & Warwickshire 2023

TagFest Coventry & Warwickshire is excited to be returning to our popular Leamington RFC venue. 

Leamington RFC is located just outside the beautiful Warwickshire Spa Town of Royal Leamington Spa.  Don’t let the tranquil surroundings fool you however, TagFest Coventry & Warwickshire is set to be anything but, with the day full of action on the pitch followed by an after party to be reckoned with, this year featuring a band and live music.    

For touring teams, this is the only Midlands tournament in the TagFest Series and it is perfectly located for welcoming teams from all corners of the country.  Royal Leamington Spa is just over an hour on the train from central London, only two hours from Bristol in the South and Manchester in the North so take your team on tour and make a weekend of it.

We look forward to sharing more details as we approach the event but fair to say, it will be great tag, great after-party, great location and a great weekend.

FORMAT
– All teams will have a guaranteed game time of 90 minutes
– Maximum of 12 players per squad and a maximum of 4 male players on the pitch at any one time
– 2023 7-a-side Try Tag Rugby rules apply
– All players must be registered for insurance purposes
– Teams will be seeded based on submitted squads. Squads must be complete by Friday 30th June
– Seeding is done at the discretion of Try Tag Rugby, incomplete squads may result in higher seeding than expected
– Pools will be created which in turn will break out into Cup, Plate and Bowl etc competitions so there is always something to play for.
– Consumption of alcohol by players is prohibited until the tournament has concluded 

If your usual team can’t play or you just fancy a bit of a change, don’t worry, you can always register for the tournament as an individual and we will assign you to a new team or we can build a team around you on request.

PRESENTATION & AFTER PARTY
On completion of the finals, the presentation will take place in the onsite Rugby clubhouse before the after-party kicks-off for all players in the clubhouse bar where there will be a band providing live music.

VENUE
This year’s event will be hosted at Leamington RFC (Kenilworth Rd, Blackdown, Leamington Spa CV32 6RG, just 5 minutes in the car to Leamington Spa town centre and 10 mins to Leamington Spa train station.  Free onsite parking is available.

Full female and male changing facilities are available on-site for use before, during and after the tournament – particularly important for getting yourself changed into your after-party outfit once the games are finished

ON THE DAY
All teams and players will be required to arrive at the venue in order to register at least one hour before kick off with the first games starting at 11am. Exact registration opening times will be confirmed in the welcome email. Play will be completed for 17:00 with the after-match party taking place in the onsite clubhouse.

FOOD & DRINK
Food and drink will be available on the day at the Clubhouse Cafe from 10am.  

SPECTATORS
Spectators are more than welcome, so make sure you bring your friends and family to enjoy the day and all it has to offer in the evening.

PLAYING KIT
ITF approved Tag Rugby shorts or tights are compulsory and will be available to purchase via card on the day. Details on ITF Approved (Tag Rugby) Shorts / Details on Kit Items not Permitted. Shorts will also be available to hire on the day.

REGISTRATION
Team registration is available at the cost of £190 for squads of 12. However, the first 5 teams to register can take advantage of our early bird offer at the low price of £160!

If your usual team can’t play or you just fancy a bit of a change, don’t worry, you can always register for the tournament as an individual for £23 and we will assign you to a bespoke Individuals’ Team of a similar standard.

If you have a couple of mates and want to play together as part of an individuals’ team, sign up and drop a line to coventry@trytagrugby.com with the players’ names.

The registration deadline for both teams and individuals is 9am on Friday 30th June or when the event sells out.

TAGFEST LONDON
Register a team for your home TagFest and receive 20% cash-back off TagFest London team registration. Applies to non-London based teams only. Cannot be used in conjunction with any other offer.

Team names should be the same at all TagFest tournaments, six or more of the same players must participate at each tournament. To redeem, email info@trytagrugby.com with your team name after registration and one week prior to TagFest London.
