TagFest Oxford 2023

TagFest Oxford 2022 was an absolute swelter of a weekend for Tag Rugby, hosting camping all weekend and an after-party for the ages to speak about.

TagFest Oxford 2023 is going to go further by increasing our capacity for playing teams and camping. We are also going to up the ante on more off-field activities, competitions and entertainment to complement the on-pitch action.

TagFest Oxford 2023 will once again host FREE all weekend camping, yes that’s right Free Camping. On Saturday evening, after a full day of Tag Rugby, the post tournament party will begin and continue late into the night with live music and DJ playing your favourite tunes. This is the ultimate combination of Tag and festival, with live music, after-party and camping!

Over the coming months we’ll be announcing the events and food offering that will take place throughout the day and into the evening at TagFest Oxford 2023.
TagFest Oxford 2023 will return to Oxford Rugby Football Club, in Hinksey, just a short taxi ride from Oxford City Centre and a 30 minute walk with a beautiful view from Oxford train station. We are looking forward to welcoming our widest array of tournament attendees as teams head to the tournament from across the UK and hopefully more.

FORMAT
The first matches of TagFest Oxford 2023 will kick-off at 11am and culminate with the Grand Final on the main pitch, in front of the after-party area. The winners’ presentations will take place shortly after the final.
– All teams will play through the pool stages to determine whether they make it into the Cup or Plate competition for their division.
– All teams will have a guaranteed game time of 90 minutes
– Maximum of 12 players per squad and a maximum of 4 male players on the pitch at any one time
– All players must be registered for insurance purposes
– Teams will be seeded based on submitted squads. Squads must be complete by Friday 14th July
– Seeding is done at the discretion of Try Tag Rugby, incomplete squads may result in higher seeding than expected
– Consumption of alcohol by players is prohibited until the tournament has concluded

PRESENTATION & AFTER-PARTY
On completion of the finals, the presentation will take place by the main stage before the after party kicks-off for all players with live music, Clubhouse Bar and food options, followed by a DJ and dance floor until midnight.

AFTER-PARTY & NON-PLAYER TICKETS
TagFest Oxford 2023 in a non ticketed event. With plenty of entertainment on and off the field, we would encourage friends & family of those participating to come along for the day & evening to take in the flavour of the event.

VENUE
Try Tag Rugby Thames Valley are excited to develop their partnership with the popular host venue of the 2021 and 2022 TagFest Oxford. TagFest 2023 will take place at Oxford Rugby Football Club, N Hinksey Ln, North Hinksey, Oxford OX2 0NA, just a short taxi ride or a 30 minute walk with a gorgeous view from Oxford train station and city centre. The venue is also just off the M40, A40 and A34 for travelling teams wishing to drive, there is ample free parking on site, however we’d encourage all attendees to arrive by public transport where possible.

Full female and male changing facilities are available on site for use before, during and after the tournament and during the camping – particularly important for getting yourself changed into your after-party outfit once the games are finished. Please note, dogs are permitted at this venue, responsible dog ownership is expected.

ON THE DAY
Fixtures for the day are scheduled to take place between 11am and 6pm with exact timings to be confirmed once seeding is complete. The winners presentation will follow the Cup Grand Final with the official after-party then running until midnight.

FOOD & DRINK
Food vendors will be on-site throughout the day’s play and into the evening providing a variety of culinary options for teams and spectators while the clubhouse bar will keep the drinks flowing during the after-party!

PLAYING KIT
ITF approved Tag Rugby shorts or tights are compulsory and will be available to purchase via card on the day. Details on ITF Approved (Tag Rugby) Shorts / Details on Kit Items not Permitted. Shorts will also be available to hire on the day. We will have a merchandise shop available at the event, showcasing new and popular lines of shorts, tights, balls and more.

REGISTRATION
Team registration max squad size 12 players is available with an EARLY BIRD offer for the first 10 teams – at the cost of £190. After the first 10 teams have entered the price is £210.

If your usual team can’t play or you just fancy a bit of a change, don’t worry, you can always register for the tournament as an individual for £25 and we will assign you to a bespoke Individuals’ Team of a similar standard or place you on a team that has requested additional players.

If you have a couple of mates and want to play together as part of an individuals’ team, sign up and contact us at with the players’ names.

The registration deadline for both teams and individuals is the end of Friday 14th July or when the event sells out.

TAGFEST LONDON
Register a team for your home TagFest and receive 20% cash-back off TagFest London team registration. Applies to non-London based teams only. Cannot be used in conjunction with any other offer.

Team names should be the same at all TagFest tournaments, six or more of the same players must participate at each tournament.
