TagFest Yorkshire, the second largest in the series, returns in 2023. The biggest Tag Rugby tournament in the North of England, TagFest Yorkshire consists of a day of Tag Rugby with a festival atmosphere and an after-party.

After a record 40 teams played hard and partied harder in 2022, TagFest Yorkshire is set to build to even bigger festival levels in August 2023, as the ultimate Tag event for your calendar!

The tournament will have three mixed divisions and a mens division to accommodate all standards from beginner to elite.

Our aim is to create the most engaging, enjoyable and all-inclusive Tag Rugby tournament ever. After a full day of Tag Rugby, the post-tournament party will begin and continue late into the night with a DJ playing your favourite tunes.

TagFest Yorkshire 2023 will take place at Stanningley Rugby Club The Arthur Miller Stadium, Coal Hill Dr, Leeds LS13 1PA. We are looking forward to another successful tournament as we welcome teams to Tagfest Yorkshire 2023 from all around the UK.

FORMAT
The first matches of TagFest Yorkshire 2023 will kick-off at 11am and culminate with the Division 1 final on the main pitch, in front of the clubhouse. The winners’ presentations will take place shortly after the final.

All teams will play through the pool stages to determine whether they make it into the Cup, Plate, or Bowl competition for their division. The three divisions will have staggered finish times to allow easy access to the bar for a well earned drink after your final.

– All games will be 7-a-side and will have a guaranteed game time of at least 90 minutes
– Maximum of 12 players per squad, minimum 3 females on the pitch at any one time (in the mixed format)
– Division 1 will play with Try Tag Rugby’s extended rules (7-a-side still applies). Regular Try Tag Rugby rules apply for all other divisions
– All players must be registered for insurance purposes
– Teams will be seeded based on submitted squads. Squads must be complete by 6th August
– Seeding is done at the discretion of Try Tag Rugby Yorkshire, incomplete squads may result in higher seeding than expected
– Consumption of alcohol is prohibited until the tournament has concluded

PRESENTATION & AFTER-PARTY
On completion of the finals, the presentation will take place in front of the clubhouse before the after-party kicks-off for all players with a DJ, multiple bars, and food options, followed by a DJ and dance floor until midnight.

VENUE
Try Tag Rugby Yorkshire are excited to develop their partnership further with the popular host venue for previous TagFests. TagFest Yorkshire 2023 will take place at Stanningley Rugby Club The Arthur Miller Stadium, Coal Hill Dr, Leeds LS13 1PA, just a ten-minute taxi drive from Leeds train station.

Full female and male changing facilities are available on-site for use before, during and after the tournament – particularly important for getting yourself changed into your after-party outfit once the games are finished.

ON THE DAY
All divisions will need to arrive for registration no later than 10:00 with the first games starting at 11:00. Play will be completed for 17:30 with the after-match social running until 23:00.

FOOD & DRINK
A food vendor will be on-site after the day’s play and into the evening providing culinary options for teams and spectators while an inside and outdoor bar will keep the drinks flowing during the after party!

PLAYING KIT
ITF approved Tag Rugby shorts or tights are compulsory, available from the Try Tag Rugby shop www.trytagrugbyshop.com in advance or via card on the day. Details on ITF Approved (Tag Rugby) Shorts / Details on Kit Items not Permitted. Shorts will also be available to hire on the day.

REGISTRATION
Team registration is available at the cost of £220 for squads of 12. If your usual team can’t play or you just fancy a bit of a change, don’t worry, you can always register for the tournament as an individual for £25 and we will assign you to a bespoke Individuals’ Team of a similar standard.
