Yes, after training squads are announced, we open nominations for the player pool. See the briefing doc for the full information on the player pool.
Registration for the player pool is now open.
Can I be a coach or manager?
Coaching applications are always welcomed for vacant positions in your region. Contact your local Regional Manager to check availability and submit their application.
Is UK Tag Nationals an 18+ event?
Starting in 2025, the minimum age for players at the UK Tag Nationals will be 18. Players must have turned 18 by 1st January 2025. This date has been chosen to cover the entire UK Tag Nationals programme including training, not just the event itself. We recognise that some players who are under 18 at this date have participated in previous years. These players will remain eligible to play. If this applies to you, please contact us (putting “FAO David Shipley re Nationals” on the message title) for further information on our transition to this new policy. Players who are new to UK Tag Nationals and do not meet the age requirement should not nominate themselves for selection in 2025.
Are spectators allowed?
Yes spectators can attend both UK Tag Nationals and Regionals events free of charge.
Are dogs allowed on site?
No (unless required for assistance)
Is there shelter / can we bring gazebos?
Despite the excellent facilities at Highfields Sports Complex there is limited shelter around the ground. An area will be provided for teams to set-up gazebo’s to use as a base for the day. They must have pegs less than 30cm and be removed at the end of the day.
PLAYING KIT FAQS
Which regions have new kit for 2025?
Coventry & Warwickshire, Edinburgh, Manchester, Newcastle, South Yorkshire, West Yorkshire, Wigan, York.
Which regions are keeping their existing kit in 2025?
Brighton & Hove, Bristol, East London, North London, South London, Thames Valley, West London will reuse their 2023/24 UK Tag Nationals for 2025 before receiving a new kit in 2026.
Why do I have to buy playing kit to play in UK Tag Nationals?
UK Tag Nationals is the highest level domestic Tag tournament taking place in the UK and representing your region is second only in prestige to representing your country. UK Tag Nationals is regularly streamed online so the tournament is a good showcase for Tag Rugby in the UK. Wearing the same kit as other players in your region also helps unite the players into a single team representing one region. For these reasons, since its conception, it was decided that teams should dress appropriately in regional branded kits.
Why is the kit renewed every two years?
We’ve chosen to operate kits on a two-year cycle rather than annually to reduce costs. This allows players who purchase a kit in year-one of a kit cycle to keep and reuse the kit in year two. We feel this is the right balance for this high level tournament in the calendar.
Is kit compulsory?
Official kit for each region is compulsory for UK Tag Nationals and optional (though encouraged) for Regional warm-up tournaments.
When are the order windows?
Order window 1 – Monday 2nd December 2024, Friday 10th January 2025 9am.
Order window 2 – Wednesday 12th March 2025, Tuesday 1st April 2025 9am.
What items of kit can be ordered?
Jersey, singlet, shorts and tights, and regional midlayers are available in Unisex or women’s cut.
What number can I have on my kit?
All teams can have jersey/singlet numbered between 1 and 99. Your coach and/or manager will assign you a players number, and you will be asked to select the number you’ve been provided when you order a kit (kit orders and numbers chosen will be cross-checked after the order window closes).
When will kit be delivered?
Once the order windows close, the playing kit will be made to order. Playing kits will be sent to Regional Managers in advance of the regional tournaments or collected on the day of regional tournaments. This is specific to each region and will be repeated for the second order window leading up to UK Tag Nationals. Midlayers will be manufactured and sent directly to you via Royal Mail (please allow 4-5 weeks for delivery).
Who do I contact if I’ve got a question or issue with kit?
