BETFRED SUPER LEAGUE MAGIC WEEKEND 2022

This year’s Betfred Super League Magic Weekend will be taking place on Saturday 9th July and Sunday 10th July at Newcastle United’s famous St. James’ Park Stadium.

Our friends at Betfred Super League have invited us to be a part of the event by giving us the amazing opportunity to play on the iconic pitch, in front of thousands of people, at the half-time of the Salford Red Devils vs Huddersfield Giants game on Sunday!

It might be a different shaped ball but running out to play on the St. James’ Park pitch in front of thousands of people, the same pitch that Newcastle legends like Alan Shearer and Kevin Keegan have graced, is a rare opportunity and something you are unlikely to forget in a hurry.

To make it even better, the RFL have kindly offered all those taking part in the on-pitch activity a free ticket for the Sunday. You can therefore get this amazing experience and the opportunity to watch three top class Super League fixtures all for free! (*see playing conditions below).

If you would like to make a weekend of it and take in the action on the Saturday as well as the Sunday, we have discounted Saturday tickets available for £15.

For anybody who doesn’t want to get involved in the action on the pitch but would like to come and watch, our discounted tickets are also available for spectators. Tickets for Sunday are £15 (normal price £25) and tickets for the whole weekend are £24 (normal price £40).

PLAY ON THE PITCH!
We will have the whole pitch available to us during the halftime of the Huddersfield Giants vs Salford Red Devils game and we are therefore going to run two mixed Tag Rugby games. This gives plenty of opportunity for you to get involved with the first 40 people (20 males and 20 females) to register being given the opportunity to take part in the games. – You must have played in a Try Tag Rugby league in at least one season within the last 6 months
– We reserve the right to refuse you the chance to play on the pitch if you have had any previous disciplinary issues in a Try Tag Rugby League or event

ADDITIONAL FRIENDLY GAMES
All players will be required to meet at the stadium at 10:30am on Sunday 10th July to collect their tickets. We will then head to a local park to play some friendly games from 11am to 12 midday.  These games will only be for players who will be playing on the St. James’ Park pitch later and will give players the opportunity to meet the rest of the team and to have a run out together before the exhibition games. The exact location for the friendly games will be advised closer to the time, however it is envisaged the pitches will be within a short walking distance from St James’ Park Stadium. After the games there will be a short break before players need to meet back at the stadium to get ready to play on the pitch during the first game. Those players taking part in the half time game on the pitch will be required to sit together during the first half of the Huddersfield Giants vs Salford Red Devils game. Once players have been on the pitch they will be free to sit wherever they want and watch the top class action on offer during the rest of the day.
