New 3G pitch at Acton

by | Aug 18, 2021 | Leagues, London, News

From the Autumn Season our long running Acton Monday and Wednesday evening leagues will be switching from grass pitches to Wasps new 3G pitch.

This new state of the art all weather pitch will allow for year round Tag Rugby, with reduced risk of cancellations and no more mud!

The Monday League will run 7.30-9.30pm, remain 7-a-side mixed and be targeted at intermediate to A-Grade standard teams and players. At this stage nothing else will change but we are considering evolving the league to the 8-a-side format using our extended rules if there is sufficient interest in the coming seasons. If you’ve any thoughts on this or ideas for the Monday League feel free to get in touch.

The Wednesday League will run as 6-a-side mixed (3 males & 3 females on the pitch) and is targeted at beginner to intermediate teams and players. With capacity for 18 teams, we are putting significant priority into growing the Wednesday League to eventually have two or three divisions of teams. This should lead to close games and a pumping post game social!

If you’ve never played on 3G, the springy surface produces a fast brand of Tag Rugby, is soft enough to dive for tags and has the added benefit of providing a mud free pitch! In our opinion, is it by far the best surface to play Tag Rugby on outside of summer!

Registration is now open for both the Monday and Wednesday Leagues. We are expecting strong interest from teams and players all throughout West London looking to play on one of the best surfaces in London.
