Due to the ongoing global pandemic the Tag World Cup, due to take place in summer 2021, has been postponed to 2022.

An ITF board meeting was held on Thursday 17th September where the five full member nations ratified the change.

The Tag World Cup will now take place from 29th July – 5th August 2022, in Limerick, Ireland.

Due to the postponement, the following activities will now take place in 2021:

  • Great Britain will host Ireland in the British & Irish Cup in March/April 2021, with a date and venue TBC
  • The Confederations Cup will take place in Limerick, Ireland and include a second British & Irish Cup in August 2021, date TBC
  • South Africa will host a Tri-Nations tournament in December 2021 with South Africa, Ireland and Great Britain represented, date, venue & categories TBC

Over the coming weeks Try Tag Rugby will engage with Great Britain stakeholders to discuss Great Britain’s timeline and structures through to the 2022 Tag World Cup.
