TTR Policy on Sexual Harassment

by | Oct 8, 2021 | Events, Leagues, London, News

Try Tag Rugby is committed to providing a positive and safe environment for all individuals at our leagues, events and socials. This includes a zero tolerance approach to all forms of sexual harassment.

Sexual harassment is defined by law in the Equality Act 2010 as “unwanted conduct of a sexual nature which has the purpose or effect of violating someone’s dignity, or creating an intimidating, hostile, degrading or offensive environment for them.”

Behaviour that constitutes sexual harassment includes but is not limited to:

– Sexual assault or rape
– Unwanted physical contact such as hugging, kissing and touching
– Inappropriate or suggestive remarks or verbal sexual advances
– Indecent comments, jokes or intrusive questions relating to a person’s looks or private life
– Your body being stared or leered at
– Requests for sexual favours and/or offers of rewards in return for sexual favours
– The display or circulation of pornography or indecent images

All members of the TTR community are encouraged to formally report cases of sexual harassment, whether they are the recipient of the behaviour or are witness to it, as soon as reasonably practicable.

We will be releasing further information in the near future regarding our procedures for reporting instances of sexual harassment. However, if you need to get in touch immediately please use the complaint section of our contact form, https://trytagrugby.com/london/contact/.

Following a recent report of sexual harassment at one of our events, a full investigation has taken place resulting in a permanent lifetime ban for the perpetrator. TTR takes all reports of sexual harassment extremely seriously and we will continue to take strong disciplinary action where necessary in order to ensure the safety and wellbeing of our community.
