The Great Britain Tag teams came away from the World Cup with two medals and a plate final win in their most successful campaign to date at last month’s ITF Tag World Cup in Australia.
All four teams made it through to the final’s day of the World Cup, itself a huge achievement.
The Men’s Open won their plate final with a 7-2 win over South Africa. Women’s Seniors won Great Britain’s first ever medal with a 6-3 win over New Zealand. The Men’s 30s came close to winning a gold medal in their final against Australia, eventually going down 6-1, and coming away with the silver medal.
The players were drawn from Try Tag Rugby Leagues throughout the UK and were followed closely by fans on tour and a passionate Try Tag Rugby Community back in the UK watching live streams on Try Tag Rugby’s Facebook page.
On behalf of Try Tag Rugby we’d like to thank all players, coaches and managers for delivering our most successful World Cup campaign to date.
