How to Get Involved
Tag Rugby is and extremely inclusive sport and we can cater for new starters throughout the year.
We run leagues that typically last 10 weeks. You don’t have to have any sporting experience to join in and play.
There are several ways that you can start playing Tag Rugby with us.
Enter A Team Into A League
If you have a bunch of mates or work colleagues that all want to play together you can sign up together as a team.
We typically recommend that you have a few extra players in your squad so that you can have subs on matchdays (you will get a good workout!) and have enough players available for times when players are absent due to other life commitments.
For a seven-a-side mixed league you would typically want five to seven males and four to five females. If you can only scrape together six or seven players you can contact us to register as a part-team and we can find either another team to merge you into or a few extra players to bolster your numbers. If you are short a couple of players, again, you can contact us and we will try and find some players to join you.
If entering as a part-team we will ensure that you don’t pay more than the individual price per player on your team. If you have a request for extra players we will deduct 1/11th of the league fee for every player added so that you don’t pay over the odds for your team.
Sign Up To Join A Team
This is a great way to get involved and meet a bunch of new mates. As a beginner to Tag Rugby, depending on numbers we’ll either put you on a team of new players so you can all bond and learn the game at the same rate. Alternatively, we will put you on an existing team that was looking for an extra player. Either way, you’ll make some new friends along the way. You can even sign up with a friend or two and request to be on the same team!
Our venue supervisors can provide a rule briefing on your first day.
Even if you’ve just missed the start date of the current season’s leagues, we are always looking for extra players to join teams as many find themselves a little short going into the new season. Fees will be prorated if you join late.
Join up individually or as a team and meet a bunch of new players experiencing Tag Rugby for the first time together. There is no obligation to sign up for a league or tournament.
They are a gentle introduction to the game and suitable for all levels of fitness. All you have to do is register and turn up in comfortable sports clothing and enjoy the session.
We also run a number of exciting events throughout the year including one day tournaments, parties, days out to sports matches and tag related holidays abroad.
New players and teams are encouraged to enter these events. Most tournaments have grades for beginners so even if you’re new to Tag Rugby you’re sure to have a great time.
