TagFest™ Bristol 2021
As one of the UK’s most vibrant and exciting cities to live in and visit, plus a reputation for a great nightlife it is no surprise that the inaugural TagFest™ Bristol in 2019 was hugely successful. This year’s event looks as though it will be no different, with the event once again set to welcome teams from around the country.
With a capacity of 20 teams, you need to be quick though! This year’s event will be held at Cotham Park Rugby Club to the West of the City, next to Ashton Court Estate and out past Bristol’s iconic suspension bridge.
There will be a real party atmosphere during the day, with a live DJ, fancy dress (theme TBC closer to the time) and BBQ. The presentation and after match social will take place in the club house before an after party in Bristol later in the night (venue details to be disclosed nearer the time). Make a fantastic day and night of it, feel free to bring your friends and enjoy everything Bristol and its nightlife has to offer. All social elements will depend on the Covid-19 situation and will be adapted accordingly at the time.
FORMAT
- All games will be 7-a-side and will have a guaranteed game time of at least 90 minutes
- Regular Try Tag Rugby Rules apply
- Maximum of 12 players per squad, minimum 3 female on the pitch at any one time
- Teams will be seeded and graded based on submitted squad lists prior to the tournament
- Squad lists must be complete by the end of Sunday 27th June at the very latest
- Pools will be created which in turn will break out into Cup, Plate and Bowl etc competitions so there is always something to play for
- Consumption of alcohol is prohibited until the tournament has concluded
If your usual team can't play or you just fancy a bit of a change, don't worry, you can always register for the tournament as an individual and we will assign you to a new team or we can build a team around you on request.
PRESENTATION & AFTER PARTY
On completion of the finals, the presentation will take place in the onsite clubhouse. The clubhouse will then host an after match social with live DJ and BBQ before the after party in Bristol later in the evening (Venue TBC).
VENUE
This year’s event will be hosted at Cotham Park Rugby Club, adjacent to Ashton Court Estate just over the Clifton Suspension Bridge. Accessible by car, taxi or bus from Bristol. On-site parking is available.
ON THE DAY
All teams and players will be required to arrive at the venue in order to register at least one hour before kick off with the first games starting at 11:00am. Exact registration opening times will be confirmed in the welcome email. Play will be completed for 17:30 with the after-match social taking place onsite at Oxford RFC with a live DJ and BBQ. An after party will then take place in Bristol later in the evening.
FOOD & DRINK
Food and drink will be available on the day.
SPECTATORS
Spectators are more than welcome, so make sure you bring your friends and family to enjoy the day and all it has to offer in the evening.
SHORTS/TIGHTS
Official TagFest™ regional shorts and tights will be available to purchase on the day.
PLAYING KIT
ITF approved Tag Rugby shorts or tights are compulsory, available from the Try Tag Rugby shop www.trytagrugby.com/shop in advance or via card on the day. Details on ITF Approved (Tag Rugby) Shorts / Details on Kit Items not Permitted. Shorts will also be available to hire on the day.
REGISTRATION
Team registration is available at the cost of £180 for squads of 12. However, the first 5 teams to register can take advantage of our early bird offer at the low price of £150!
If your usual team can’t play or you just fancy a bit of a change, don’t worry, you can always register for the tournament as an individual for £20 and we will assign you to a bespoke Individuals’ Team of a similar standard.
If you have a couple of mates and want to play together as part of an individuals’ team, sign up and drop a line to bristol@trytagrugby.com with the players’ names. The registration deadline for both teams and individuals is 9am on Friday 25th June or when the event sells out.
COVID-19 AND CANCELLATIONS
Events will adhere to relevant Covid-19 guidelines. Details of Try Tag Rugby’s latest regulations will be circulated in the event welcome email which all players must familiarise themselves with. If any event has to be postponed or rescheduled, players will have the option to carry over their registration or be refunded.

Register a team for your home TagFest™ and receive 20% cash-back off TagFest™ London team registration. Applies to non-London based teams only. Cannot be used in conjunction with the TagFest™ London early bird offer.
Team names should be the same at all TagFest™ tournaments, six or more of the same players must participate at each tournament.
