Try Tag Rugby Manchester’s inaugural Corporate Challenge, which will take place on Friday, 17th May 2019 at Broughton Park Rugby Club and Yorkshire’s fifth annual Corporate Challenge, will take place on Thursday, 11th April 2019 at Weetwood Sports Park in Leeds, has named Marie Curie, the leading charity for people with any terminal illness, as charity partners for this year’s tournaments.
Try Tag Rugby’s Corporate Challenge is the only tournament specifically for work teams. The tournament is an opportunity for both new and existing corporate teams to get involved. Previous tournaments in London and Yorkshire have attracted a range of companies including Deloitte, Willis Towers Watson, DLA Piper, Google, Citi and Coca Cola.
Faye Cryer, Marie Curie Community Fundraiser for Leeds and Tadcaster said: “We’re thrilled to have been nominated as charity partner for a second time and rely heavily on events such as the Yorkshire Corporate Challenge to help raise vital funds for Marie Curie.
“Last year, through the incredible efforts of all involved, we made raised almost £1,500 which was an amazing achievement. It was great to see so many people turn out in force to compete in such a fun and exciting event and we’re encouraging more local companies to get involved this year.”
Lynn Partridge community fundraiser for Manchester, Trafford, Oldham and Rochdale added: “We’re absolutely delighted that Try Tag Rugby has chosen Marie Curie as the beneficiary for their Manchester Corporate Challenge this year.
“It’s thanks to kind-hearted organisations like Try Tag Rugby Manchester and the generosity of the people and companies who enter an event like the Corporate Challenge that Marie Curie can continue to provide care and support to people with a terminal illness and their families.”

Try Tag Rugby will donate all profits from the Corporate Challenge events to Marie Curie. Staff and volunteers from the charity will also be on hand during the event to promote the charity and the work that’s happening in the local area. Marie Curie will also be running a raffle during the event with some fantastic prizes up for grabs to help encourage all those involved to engage in the spirit of the event and help raise as much money as possible.
