Autumn Tag Rugby Tournament – Yorkshire – Round Up

The annual Autumn Tag Rugby Tournament – Yorkshire took place on Saturday 9th November at West Park RUFC in Leeds.

10 teams braved the weather and took the field on Saturday. Teams played in two pools in the round-robin stage of the tournament with the top three teams in each pool progressing to the Cup and the bottom two teams in each pool competing in the Plate. The round-robin stage saw some excellent games and some impressive performances.

After the second stage, it was Tag Me Off and Velcrocity who met in the Cup Final after Tag Me Off had gotten the better of Velcrocity 5-0 in the pool stage. This time, Velcrocity got their revenge beating them 3-2 in the final after a last gasp try from Craig Churchyard in the final play of the game. Taggamasala took the bronze after a victory over Crouching Yorkshire Chicken Teabaggers in the 3rd Place Final.

10p Plastic Tags and Dude Looks Like a Lady met in the Plate Final, It was a close game with great play from both teams but it was 10p Plastic Tags who came out the victors on the ‘First Try’ rule after a competitive 6-6 draw.
