Tagkeshi’s castle triumph at TagFest™ Yorkshire 2021

by | Aug 26, 2021 | Bristol, Coventry & Warwickshire, Events, London, Manchester, News, Sheffield, Thames Valley, Wigan, Yorkshire

On Saturday, August 14th, 40 teams took to the pitch to compete at TagFest™ Yorkshire, at Stanningley Rugby Club in Leeds. This became the largest ever Tag Rugby tournament in Yorkshire hosted by Try Tag Rugby.

Tagkeshi’s Castle won the tier 1 Cup in a closely contested final against Velcrocity who had gone defeated throughout the first phase of the competition. This is Tagkeshi Castle’s second title having emerged victorious in 2016.

Tier 2 was won by Southern Fairies who were one of nine teams who had made the trip up from London.

The inaugural Men’s division was won by Yorkshire based team Taguila Slamm3rs who went undefeated throughout the day.

Thanks to PSS International Removals our official referee partner, the team at Stanningley Rugby Club, the Try Tag Rugby staff and volunteers, the referees and of course all of the players for making it a fantastic return to major tournaments in the North of England. We would also like to thank our Yorkshire Pudding and Spoon Race Partner, Toby Carvey Horsforth for donating the Giant Yorkshire Puddings and prizes for our Yorkshire Pudding and spoon race.
